The event, which was organised by Anne Spruce and Meryl Jones, was a chance for a pre-Christmas catch-up and to recognise the achievements of some of the allotment’s newest recruits.

In addition to thanking Anne and Meryl for all their work, chairman, Bob Gage gave a special mention to committee member Kevin Main, and wished him a speedy recovery following his recent operation.

The Best Newcomer Awards 2018 were presented to Nikki Ault who, as many of you know, has a skill for growing super-sized pumpkins, and Carol and Allen Pennels.

This year has been a busy one for the association and we look forward to building closer links with the local community in the coming 12 months to make 2018 an even greater success.
